LENA S. RAXTER, age 100, formerly of Dandridge, TN passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at The Lantern in Clinton, TN. She was born June 29, 1918 in Russell County, VA to the late Elmer and Grace Combs Sargent. She was a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church near Dandridge. Preceding her in death were her husband, Gerald H. Raxter; five younger brothers, Gaylord, Kermit, Woodrow, Joe and Edro Sargent; and grandson, Robert (Bobby) H. Raxter. She is survived by her brother, Randall Sargent of Bristol, TN. Lena is also survived by her daughter, Marie Hopwood and husband, Richard of Tullahoma, TN; two sons, James Earl Raxter and wife, Sherry of Kingsport, TN, and Kermit Randall Raxter and wife, Nancy of Clinton, TN; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Farrar Funeral Home, 162 E. Meeting Street, Dandridge, TN. The funeral will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Chaplain Franklin Dawson attending. The graveside interment service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, VA. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Lena S.
