Hutzler, age 56, passed away peacefully on Jan. 17, 2019 at SSM Home Health Hospice House in Baraboo after a lengthy battle with COPD and emphysema. He was born in Ripon, WI., on Jan. 9, 1963 to the late Kermit and Beverly (Bielke) Hutzler. Kevin graduated from Turner High School; class of 1981 and then obtained his CNA Certification from MATC in Portage. He was united in marriage to Kimberly G. Gerhartt on Feb. 5, 1983. Kevin worked as a CNA for 27 years at Divine Savior Nursing Home in Portage until his health no longer allowed him too. He loved spending time with Kim and his family, camping and fishing and trips to Roche-A-Cri State Park in Adams Co. were among his favorite. Kevin was a proud grandfather and loved to entertain and play pretend with Jadin. He collected coins, enjoyed WWE wrestling, Kung Fu Movies, classic cars and Barret Jackson and Mecum Auctions, AC/DC and classic rock music; “If you don’t eat your meat, you can’t have any pudding”. Kevin is survived by his wife, Kim of almost 36 years; a son, Benjamin of Portage; daughters, Penny (Russ Morgan) Hutzler of Portage and Crystal (Phil) Snyder of Baraboo; grandchildren, Jadin, Jon, Zoe, Sephora “Sadie”, Zach, and Kara; 2 sisters, Pam Kratz (Rich), and Debbie (Jim) Krause; mother in-law, Patricia DeFliger; a special niece, Amanda (Jen Dowdy) Poff of Endeavor. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Kevin’s family wishes to acknowledge and thank the SSM Home Health Hospice organization and Hospice House for Kevin’s amazing support. A Celebration of Kevin’s life will be held from 10:00 am until 2:30 pm on Feb. 2, 2019 at the Portage VFW Post 1707, 215 W. Collins St., Portage.
