Kathaleen Dee Andrews 2019

Kathaleen “Dee” Andrews, 83, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City. She was born June 19, 1935 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Virgil Austin and Lorhee (Milton) Carr. She had worked previously as a nurse in a care facility and was a dedicated and faithful member of Clark Avenue Church of Christ in Granite City. She enjoyed her daily walks and cherished writing inspirational cards and letters to those she loved in her life. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Tony Turner of Granite City and Gregory Andrews of Florida; daughter-in-law, Janice McGlasson of Granite City; four grandchildren and their spouses, Lisa and Eugena Huerta, Michelle and Alan Wallace, Gregory and Sarah Andrews and Jessica and Wayne Felix; seven great grandchildren, Danielle, Curtis, Felicia, Chelsea, Tori, Joshua and Liam; six great-great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and June Carr of Granite City; other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Williams, Shirley Kent and Francis “Blondie” Kretzer and an infant brother, Virgil Carr. In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Mike Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials may be made to Clark Avenue Church of Christ and may be accepted at the funeral home.
