Julia’s Obituary Julia M. Thyen (nee Sandilla), age 102, child of Sam and Elizabeth Sandilla, passed away January 25, 2019. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norbert “Dick”; brothers, Angelo, Jim, Anthony and Pete Sandilla; sisters, Theresa, Rose, Tony and Dorothy; great-grandaughter, Katie. Survived by her daughter, Mary Jean and son, David (Mary Ellen); grandchildren, Rick (Stacy), Rob, Sue (Bob) Behnke; great grandchildren, Sam and Alex Thyen, Lauren, Jack, David and Jeff Behnke along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Sugar was a past resident of the Linden House in Hobart, Indiana. She enjoyed playing bingo and bunko. She was a long time member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and member of St. Anne’s Confraternity. Private Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Burton officiating. She will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
