Mrs. Joyce Louise Collins Simms, age 77, of Pinnacle, NC, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on December 10, 1941 to Oscar Collins and Mary Hatley Lunsford. Mrs. Simms is loved and missed by all of her surviving family; son; Donald (Lisa) Simms, Jr., daughters; Teresa (Jim) Galloway Tammy (Mickey) Martin, brother; Harry (Peggy) Collins, nine grandchildren; Jessica Voland, Emily (Adam) ParkerJosh Venable, Jonah Venable, Cliff Cox, Jamie O’neal, Stacy (Greg) Ray,Katie (Chris) Irwin, Jessica (Jeremy) Glass. eight great-grandchildren; Blake Benge, Avery Voland, Lincoln Parker, Sophie Irwin, James Irwin, Jonah Irwin, Gracie Ray, and Eden Ray. A host of nieces and nephews. She preceded in death by her loving husband; Donald D. Simms, father; Oscar Collins, mother; Mary Hatley Lunsford , brothers; Hoover Collins, Alvin Collins, Ray Collins, Walter Collins, Baby Larry Collins, sisters; Clara Collins, Virginia Mink, Lorene Mabe, Baby Geneva Collins, grandchild; DJ Simms, great-grandchild; Brianna Voland. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Cox Needham Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Tim Collins officiating. Interment will follow Sky Line Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 6 PM. to 8 PM at Cox Needham Funeral Home .
