Joseph C Joe Dignazio 1942 2019

Obituary of Joseph Dignazio Mr. Joseph C. Dignazio , 76 , of Amsterdam passed away peacefully on January 29th, 2019 at Albany Medical Center. He was born on April 3, 1942 in Amsterdam, New York to Anthony and Domenica Dignazio and was a 1960 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. In 1964 Joseph enlisted in the National Guard U.S. Army where he faithfully served our nation during the Vietnam Era. Upon returning Mr. Dignazio was employed by Joe’s Market of Market St. in Amsterdam where he worked for 45 years and was then employed by Price Chopper, now known as Market 32, as a produce clerk. A devout Christian, Mr. Dignazio was a former member of St Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and most recently worshipped at Historic St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church of 156 E. Main St in Amsterdam. Joseph had a passion for landscape photography, and enjoyed attending air shows, particularly the New England Air Show which he attended every year. He was an avid baseball fan, and loved the Los Angeles Dodgers. Joseph is survived by his sister MaryAnn (James) Louison of Amsterdam, as well as the Louison and Luffman families, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Domenica Dignazio, and his beloved cats. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM on Friday February 1, 2019 at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home with Rev. Pascal “Pat” Iannotti officiating. The family will receive friends at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam on Friday February 1, 2019 from 10:00AM – 11:00AM prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA at P.O. Box 484 Amsterdam, NY 12010.
