ALLIS, Joseph C., 73, of Homosassa, Florida; formerly of Spring Hill, Florida, died Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the HPH Hospice Care Center. He was born November 21, 1945 in Byron, Michigan and came to this area 21 years ago from Howell, Michigan. He served in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. Joseph was a switching supervisor for the telephone company, retiring from Michigan Bell after 26 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, as well as a member of the Hernando County Sportsman’s Club, NRA, Amateur Radio Relay League, NA Hunting Club, Life member, and was an avid HAM radio operator. He was Baptist by faith. He is preceded in death by daughter, Krista Wiggins and granddaughter, Kimberly. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Pamala; son and daughter-in-law, John C. & Lisa Allis of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; daughters and sons-in-law, Marie & Brian Jetter of Bolivia and Denise & Christian Steuer of Weeki Wachee, Florida; brother, Robert Allis; sisters, Marilyn Warner and Audrey Hibbard; grandchildren: David, Andrew, Caleb, Jakayla, James, Denae, Seth, Emma, Elizabeth and Abigail. A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2:00-4:00pm, Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel. A Graveside Service will take place at 10:00am, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the VFW National Home For Children.
