Jimmie Don Himes of Hermiston was born May 21, 1946 in Yakima, WA the son of William and Juanita (Payne) Himes. He passed away on Monday January 28, 2019 near Hermiston at the age of 72. Jimmie grew up in Yakima where he attended school. He traveled extensively throughout the United States and worked in various areas. He worked as a motel manager in the communities of Port Townsend and Cooley City, Washington for many years. He has lived in the Hermiston area for the past ten years. Jimmie loved antiquing, fishing and camping. He had a artistic ability and used that ability to make many creations. He also enjoyed leather working, was a talented carpenter and had a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Christy Lynn Himes; his parents;four sisters, Nadine, Virginia, Reba and Loretta; brother, Cecil. He is survived his daughter, Angie Himes; grandchildren, William, Dionicio, Skylar and Katelyn; great grandchildren, Koa and Aria; sister-in-law, Bernice Himes; nephews, Jimmy, Mike and Justin; niece, Brenda; caregiver, dear friend and adopted daughter, Rachel Dunn; special girl his dog, Ditzy (a.k.a. Boobaloo). No formal services are planned. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of final arrangements.
