James’ Obituary James “Jim” Patrick Joyce, 84, of Rushville, IN, passed away on January 28, 2019. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 with the rosary at 3:45 PM and calling from 4-8 PM at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory Military Rites conducted by the Rush County Honor Guard, will be Saturday 9:30 AM lFeb. 2nd at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday 10:30 AM Feb. 2, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. James Brockmeier officiating. Burial will follow at Rushville’s Calvary Cemetery. Jim was born in Rushville, IN, on May 1, 1934. He graduated from Rushville High School in 1952. Jim married Lois Ann New on July 3, 1959 they would have been married for 60 years in 2019. Jim served in the Signal Corps for the US Army from 1956 – 1958 before serving in the Reserves for many years. He worked as a Loan Officer at the Rushville National Bank and later retired from Kraft Foods© as a District Sales Manager. He was an avid Purdue Basketball fan and enjoyed golf and bowling. He served on the Rushville Boy’s & Girl’s Club advisory board several years. He was also actively involved in the American Legion, serving as a past Commander and a 50+ year Life Member. He was involved in the Knights of Columbus and was a lifelong patron of St. Mary Catholic Church. Jim is survived by his wife, Lois, his brother, Mike (Norma) Joyce, his sister, Anna-Karen Pennington, his son, Joe (Stephanie) Joyce, his daughter, Juli (Mike) Ellis, his grandsons, Jared, Luke, Ryan and Michael James, his granddaughters, Bethany, Kerianne, and Ella, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard “Porky” & Francis Joyce, his brother-in-law, Fred Pennington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church.
