James Mark Gawlik October 3 1957 – January 29 2019

Obituary for James Mark Gawlik Print On January 29, 2019 James Mark Gawlik of San Antonio, Texas passed away at home surrounded by love. James was born on October 3, 1957 in San Antonio to Wallace P. and Mary Jo (Dreis) Gawlik, whom have preceded him in death along with his brother Michael Gawlik. James married his sweetheart, Carol Shodrock in San Antonio on June 23, 1979 where they raised their family. Among his favorite things were being on his tractor, being at the coast and Lone Star Beer. He was a big sports fan , but was probably the biggest fan of his grandchildren, especially getting to meet and spend time with the newest addition. He will be dearly missed by his wife of almost 40 years, Carol Gawlik; his daughters, Amy Scarborough (Matthew) and Amanda Vader (Colton); grandchildren, Ava June Scarborough and Canon James Vader; sister, Karen Klesel (Edwin); sister-in-law, Jo Ann Gawlik; and uncle, Richard Gawlik (Imogene). A visitation will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019, 4:00pm-8:00pm with a Rosary Vigil at 7:00pm, at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, Texas. FUNERAL MASS Friday, February 1, 2019 10:00am St. Jerome Catholic Church Interment will follow at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig.
