Henry’s Obituary Henry “Konky” Hernandez, 71, of Fort Lupton, passed away on January 18, 2019. He was born on May 11, 1947 in Platteville, Colorado to John and Ysabel (Rodriguez) Hernandez. Henry graduated from Fort Lupton High School in 1967. Henry was a lifelong resident of the Fort Lupton area. He enjoyed sports; everything from wresting and football to baseball and softball. He was a member of the All State Championship teams for both football and baseball. He also helped build Pearson Park in Fort Lupton. On November 24, 2004 he married his best friend Karen Fichter. They were married for 14 happy years. They shared a life together for 42 years, and lived in their Fort Lupton home for 31 of those years. In his later days Henry enjoyed coaching little league baseball. He was a fan of cars and loved racing them too. He was once a driver for IML for many years. He then went on to work for and then he retired from Yellow Freight. While he worked for Yellow Freight, he received numerous awards for safe driving. Henry passed away loved and surrounded by his family and friends. Visitation for Henry will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 6:00 p.m., at St. Williams Catholic Church in Fort Lupton, followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Williams Catholic Church followed by interment at Mizpah Cemetery in Platteville.
