OBITUARY Henry Guerrette September 24, 1926 – January 29, 2019 Henry Paul Guerrette, 92, of East Hartford, loving husband of 71 years of Lucille Yvonne (Mailhot) Guerrette, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. Born in Waterville, ME on September 24, 1926, a son of nine children to the late Ferdinand and Alice (Audett) Guerrette, he spent most of his life living in Hartford and East Hartford, CT. Henry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, and after the Army he studied at the New York Technical Institute. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Frisbee and Table Talk Pie Company for over 40 years. He had an incredible work ethic, getting up at 4 am most mornings and never missing a day. Henry’s last career was an appointment to a position of Deputy Sheriff which he held for over 15 years. As a Deputy Sheriff, he showed concern, and provided assistance to the people he came in contact with until finally retiring at the age of 85. He enjoyed golfing and photography and was a great person to have around if anything needed to be fixed. He loved his family and enjoyed many reunions, picnics and beach outings. He especially enjoyed his summer vacations in Maine. Henry and Lucille had four beautiful children. His oldest son Ronald and his wife Serena, his son John who predeceased him, Carol Reichardt and her husband Peter, who recently passed away, and Susan Roush and her husband Rodney. He adored his five grandchildren along with their spouses, Jessica Vanderberg and her husband James, Gregory Reichardt and his wife Cassandra, Thomas Reichardt and his wife Abby, Michael Roush, and Brian Roush; six cherished great-grandchildren, Julian, Alice and Miles Vanderberg, Scarlett, Laura and Jason Reichardt. He also leaves a sister Rita St. Onge; a brother Roger Guerrette; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. In addition to his parents, son, and son-in-law, he was predeceased by his brothers, Gerard, Guy, Richard and Robert Guerrette; and his sisters, Rose Samuelson and Yvonne Molleur. Funeral service will be Saturday (February 2nd) at the D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Harford with a visitation hour from 11 am to 12 noon. At 12 noon there will be a service celebrating Henry’s life with the Rev. James Nock officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Veteran’s Memorial Field-Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Henry’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association – CT Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
