Obituary of Helen Cavanaugh Helen P. Cavanaugh, of Montville, NJ, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. She lived a remarkable 92 years. She was born in the family home in Montclair where she was raised and lived until 1949. She was the daughter of Michael and Margaret McLaughlin and one of seven children. Helen met the love of her life, the late Daniel Cavanaugh, and together they raised their 3 children in Montville. Mrs. Cavanaugh worked as a proof reader for Bell Atlantic in Glen Ridge for many years, retiring in 1991. In addition to her beloved husband, Daniel, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Larry Palumbo and six siblings. Surviving are her devoted children, Daniel and his wife, Barbara, Kathleen Palumbo and Kevin and his wife, Jeanne; 8 cherished grandchildren and 5 adored great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, January 18th from 5-8 pm at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Es Avenue, Boonton, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 19th at 10:00 am in St. Pius X R.C. Church, 24 Changebridge Road, Montville, NJ. The interment will follow immediately at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair. To share a condolence or a memory, please visit codeymackeyfh.com.
