Helen JP Velegdan passed away on January 10, 2019. She was born on April 6, 1922 to the late Elizabeth and Edmund Dorsky. She was preceded in death by beloved husband, George Velegdan, her brothers Edward and Deszo Dorsky, her sisters Elizabeth Angelo, Irene Dorsky and Margaret Hughes. She is survived by daughters Denise Velegdan and Nadine (Tom) Dowhy as well as grandson Sean (Jen) Dowhy, godson James (Dee) Hughes and many nieces and nephews. Helen was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed working outdoors and was an avid animal lover. Helen will be remembered for her unfailing support of her family and her devotion to her faith. Family and friends will be received on SUNDAY from 4-8 PM at the McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Rd., Kennedy Twp., where transfer prayers will be offered MONDAY at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy Church at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Donations may be made to: Charity of one’s choice
