Glenn D. Witcher, age 87, of Hot Springs, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, January 23, 2019. He was born on May 13, 1931, in Corning, the son of James Herbert Witcher and Sylvia Athlea Rapert Witcher. On July 22, 1950, he married Nelma Lee, who preceded him in death on December 21, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his son, Rick Witcher; his parents; and his brother, Joe Witcher. Glenn retired from Entergy where he was a district manager. After he retired, he worked as a consultant for Union electric. Glenn enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his family. He also volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Crossgate Church Food Pantry. He is survived by two daughters, Janet Waddell (Tom) of Ironton, Missouri and Donna Thacker (Steve) of Hot Springs; eleven grandchildren, Rhett Witcher, Amber Witcher, Ryan Witcher, Jake Witcher, Tommie Waddell, Amanda Day, Catherine Wayment, Adam Waddell, Alyssa Anderson, Katie Gunter and Sam Thacker; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Joyce Farmer of Hamburg and Sharon Shear (Larry) of Urbana, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Doll Cochran of Corning and Shirley Witcher of New Philadelphia, Ohio; one brother-in-law, Charles Lee (MaryLou) of Peoria, Illinois; one daughter-in-law, Paula Witcher of Success; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 27, 2019 in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning with Mike Fendley and John Gunter officiating with visitation from 1:00 PM until service time. Interment will be in Corning Cemetery. A visitation will also be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday evening at Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Sherril Schroeder, David Carter and Thomas Glover.
