Gertrude Kutzen Edelman passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at her home in Mandeville, LA. She was born on October 25, 1923 in Detroit, MI to the late Harold P. Kutzen and Anna Horwitz Kutzen. Trudy was married to her beloved husband, the late Dr. Eugene Joseph Edelman. She was the loving mother of Anna Bowie (Paul) of Covington, LA, and Dr. Alan Edelman (Andrea) of Arroyo Grande, CA. Trudy was the proud grandmother of Dani Moore (Dale), Geoffrey Edelman (Elizabeth), and Peter Edelman (fiancé Kelly); great-grandmother of Dominic, Duncan, Daphne, and Derek. She was the sister of the late Florence Kutzen and Elizabeth Levy. The family offers special thanks to Mrs. Edelman’s long-time caregiver, Cheryl Flick, for her gentle and loving care. Trudy was a principal in the Miami-Dade Public School System for over 40 years. Upon her retirement, the school where she served for 23 years was renamed the Gertrude K.
