Geraldine Wilson, 97, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 3:50 P.M. January 22, 2019 at her residence in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born December 7, 1921 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Clarence Dewey and Bessie (Eller) Badgett. She married Glenn H. “Mutt” Wilson on July 25, 1956 and he preceded her in death on January 26, 2005.. Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Sendelbach and partner, Dale R. Martin; grandchildren, Vickie (Doug) Hiatt, Diane (Roger) Scherer, Sandra (Stacy) Sendelbach, and Michael (April) Sendelbach; grandson-in-law, Doug Kramm; great-grandchildren, Joey Warren, Shane Hiatt, Danara Steckelberg, Dariane Rose, Ariel Blake, Makayla, Andon, and Adalynn Sendelbach; and several great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Geraldine was also survived by many extended family, Bob (Sandy) Wilson and family, Jerry (Barb) Wilson and family, Larry Wilson and family, Glenda Burton and family; sisters-in-law, Jessie “Pug” Wilson and Mildred Wilson; and special pals, Glenn “Sparky” Wilson and Desirae Murdock. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Joyce Sendelbach Kramm; son-in-law, Donald R. Sendelbach; two brothers, Wilton “Bud” Badgett and wife, Ramona and Duane R. Badgett and wife Eileene; one sister, Peggy Hall; two nephews, James Hall and Billy Badgett; and extended family, Jean Wilson and Bud Burton. Geraldine was head of the Grey Ladies and volunteered with the Red Cross blood drives and Special Olympics. She worked the Krazy Klown events was a Shriner’s Hospitals for Children partner, and served on the Rainbow Girls Board, the Eastern Star, the White Shrine, Ladies of the Nile, and the Moose Auxiliary. She worked at the Garment Factory, Glassmans, and was a bookkeeper for her husband, Glenn, at Wilson Motors. For her family, she was a guide, tutor, advisor, matriarch, and most of all a shining star. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 P.M. January 27, 2019 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Mr. Randy Steele officiating. Interment will take place at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials in Geraldine’s memory, may ba made to SSM Health at Home Hospice or the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
