Gerald L. Tope Age 80, of Waynesburg, passed away Wed, Jan. 9, 2019. He was born Dec. 7, 1938 in Canton, a son of the late Orlo and Helen (Coffy) Tope, and was a life resident of Waynesburg. Gerald was a 1957 graduate of Sandy Valley High School. He was retired from St. Regis Georgia pacific Paper Co. Gerald was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant children, Nova Lee and Michael. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Curtis) Verhoff, of Minerva, his son, Greg (Julie) Tope, of Dover, and their daughters, Cassidy and Megan; four brothers, Tom (Faye) Tope, Larry Tope, Gary (Rosella) Tope, and Dennis (Dreama) Tope; and numerous nieces and nephews A Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Michael Adkins and Pastor Linda Slutz officiating. Interment will be in Sandy Valley Cemetery with Military Honors at a later date.
