Obituary for GEORGE “FRANKIE” EDMONDS GEORGE “FRANKIE” EDMONDS, age 85 of Strawberry Plains, TN formerly of Dandridge went to be with his heavenly father on Monday afternoon, December 31, 2018. He was a long-time member of the Hills Union United Methodist Church where he served as lay leader and Sunday School Superintendent and was currently a member of the McCampbell’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Frankie was a retired lineman for TVA and was veteran of the U.S. Army and the Korean Conflict.. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nancy (Hale) Edmonds; brothers, Melvin, Robert Jr. and Paul Edmonds; sister, Agnes Moody and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley Edmonds; son, Jeff (Susan) Edmonds; daughter, Star (Johnny) Parton; grandchildren, Kristen, Brad (Susie) and Josh (Haley) Edmonds, Danica Strange (Chris) Douglas, Cimber Strange, Allison Whitson and husband Shawn and Matt (C.J.) Whitson; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Dorothy) and Billy Joe (Virginia) Edmonds; several special nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held, Thursday, January 3, 2019, 7:00 pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Rainwater officiating. Interment graveside services with military honors will held Friday, 11:00am at Hills Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm prior to services. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial gifts be made to the Hills Union Cemetery Fund Inc., 2383 Hills Chapel Rd., Dandridge, TN 37725.
