Ellis Ray Vaughn, 68, of Lincoln, passed away Saturday January 5, 2019. Born to Jesse “Bill” William Vaughn Jr. and Treese (Belieu) Vaughn on October 17, 1950 in Sidney, Nebraska. Ellis graduated from Sidney High School, class of 1968. He attended UNL and the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley where he earned a Masters in Music. He later attended UNK where he received another Masters in Family Counseling. He enjoyed working many professions including Animal Control, a Band Director,… Read More » Child Protective Services, Family Counseling and at Vocational Rehab Services for the State of Nebraska in both McCook and Lincoln. He married Rebecca Johnson on June 3, 1978. They had 2 children. He was a member of the Lincoln Berean Church. He played the French horn and performed with a variety of groups both in McCook and Lincoln. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and archery competitions. He loved to work with his hands, build historical rifles and travel. Survived by daughter Erin (Corry Scott) Vaughn of Portland, OR and son Nicholas (Jessica) Vaughn of Kansas City, Kansas; grandson Declan; former spouse Rebecca Johnson; brother Rodney (Pamela) Vaughn of the UK. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Service 11:00 am, Monday, January 14, 2019 at Lincoln Berean Church Chapel, 6400 South 70th Street, Lincoln, NE 68516 with a luncheon to follow.
