Obituary for Edwin K. Speraw Sr. Edwin K. Speraw, Sr., age 81 of Millsboro, DE and formerly of Lebanon, PA, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long illness Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE. He was born in Lebanon, PA on September 30, 1937, son of the late Walter H. Sr. and Dorothy C. Speraw. Mr. Speraw was a graduate of South Lebanon High School and earned his BS in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from Penn State. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Speraw owned a General Contracting business and was a 20-year President of Delaware Manufactured Home Owners Association, both at the State and local levels. He also served as a counselor at Chit Chat Farms, Ashley House in Wernersville, PA. In addition to his parents, Mrs. Speraw was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie Speraw. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice M. (Reed) Speraw; his daughter, Mary K. Speraw and her husband David of Wyoming; his sons: Edwin K. Speraw and his wife Carolyn of Maryland, Dr. Michael S. Heiser and his wife Drenna of Washington, Walter H. Speraw, III of Lewes, and Bradley R. Heiser and his wife Lori of Virginia Beach; his adopted daughter, Jeannette Drahovsky of PA; his 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; his brothers: Charles and Walter, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews in PA. He will be missed by his faithful companion “Mindy.” A Funeral Service with military honors will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Speraw requested that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
