Nelson age 82, formally of Riviera Beach, Florida. passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Piedmont Medical Center in Conyers, Georgia. following a brief illness. Dr. Nelson formally served as Principal of Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach, Florida. for several years. She also was a faithful member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, serving in many capacities of the church. Dr. Nelson was involved in many social civic organizations. She was very loving and dedicated to her family, church and community at large. She was an active member of Zeta Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. for over fifty-five years, which makes her a Golden Soror. She leaves her loving and devoted children; Ray E. (Terrion) Nelson, of West Palm Beach, FL. and Carol (Joe) Brand, of Conyers, GA. Three loving grandchildren; Ray Nelson, II., Reneir Nelson and Reche Nelson all of West Palm Beach, FL. One brother; John Massengill, of Detriot, MI. One sister; Helen (Vernon) Thompson, of West Palm Beach, FL. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many sorrowing relatives and friends. Homegoing Services were held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 911 9th Street, West Palm Beach, FL. with Reverend Toby Philpart, Pastor. Friends called on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 5:30 p.m – 7:30 p.m. at the church mentioned above. Interment took place at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens.
