Obituary – Dennis “Butch” Ray Hardy Dennis Ray Hardy, also known as Butch, age 72, son of Wayne Rodrick and Mildred Evelyn (Sage) Hardy, was born January 26, 1946, in Pekin, Illinois. He died at the Cresthaven Care Center in Creston, Iowa on January 2, 2019. Dennis grew up and attended school at Grand River, Iowa. They were blessed with two children, Scott and Jill. Dennis enjoyed his grandkids, fishing, hunting, antique tractors, cutting wood, and playing with his dogs. He was a member of the Old Iron Club. Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Bill Hardy, Bob “Whitey” Hardy, and Nelson “PeeWee” Hardy; and two sisters, Darlene “Sue” Stanley and Goldie Rhodes. Survivors include his son, Scott Hardy, and wife, Leanne, of Shenandoah, Iowa; daughter, Jill Beaman of Osceola, Iowa; three grandchildren, Andrew Hardy and fiancé, Brianna, of Waukee, Iowa, Mark Hardy, and Ashley Hardy, both of Shenandoah; great granddaughter, Josey Hardy of Waukee; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hardy of Greenfield, Iowa; brothers, John and Deloris Hardy of Des Moines, Iowa and Lee and Charlotte Hardy of Powell, Wyoming; sister, Linda and Steve Gross of Wright, Wyoming; brother-in-law, Bill Rhodes of Osceola; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, Iowa at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019, with Kris Davies officiating. Burial will be in the Grand River Cemetery, Grand River, Iowa.
