Cynthia’s Obituary Cynthia Ann “Cindy” Lisher, 65, of Waycross, Georgia, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at Satilla Hospice House in Waycross. She was born July 25, 1953, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Leonard Boyd and Mary Jane (Rafferty) Lisher. Cindy is the beloved sister of James Lisher and wife, Martha, of Shelbyville and John Lisher and wife, Mary, of Indianapolis; and the devoted aunt of Dr. Jennifer Lisher and husband, Dan Springer, Lt. Colonel James R. Lisher II and Dr. John Patrick Lisher and wife, Marilyn. She was preceded in death by her parents. Cindy was a 1971 graduate of North Central High School in Indianapolis. She received her bachelor’s degree from Ball State University and her master’s degree from Valdosta State University in Georgia. She taught first grade for over 30 years, twenty-six of those years were at Blackshear Elementary, retiring in 2006. Cindy also leaves behind her precious cat, Annabelle, and many friends. A Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Miles-Odum Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 Screven Avenue in Waycross, Georgia. The family will be receiving friends from 12-2pm. Private family graveside services will be held at Hanover Cemetery, Shelby County, Indiana at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Waycross Animal Services, 1501 Blackwell Street, Waycross, Georgia 35501.
