Born in Pocomoke, Maryland, he was the son of the late Henry Merritt and Leora Bradford. He is survived by his sons; Neale Merritt (Bernadita), James A. Merritt (Alida), stepson; Michael Murray (Jill), stepdaughter; Jennifer Myers, sister in law; Margaret, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, brothers; Mervin “Peanut” Merritt, Willis Merritt and sister; Elizabeth Weichman. Curtis worked at Moore Business Forms from 1952-1994. He was a lifetime member of the Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Master Mason, avid fisherman, gardener and enjoyed Saturday Board Meetings with friends. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2 PM at the Burbage Funeral Home in Snow Hill, MD. Pastor Donald Bailey will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Christian Cemetery in Snow Hill, MD. Letters of condolence may be sent to the family at www.burbagefuneralhome.com.
