Clarence Earl Corbitt, 88, of Phenix City, AL passed away in the comfort of his home in Phenix City on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon EST on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Pastor Ralph Henderson officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11am to 12 noon, one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Scott Herron, Andrew Bradley, Joseph Lang, Alan Corbitt, and Shane McDougall. Mr. Corbitt was born September 18, 1930 in Fort Mitchell, AL to the late Henry Corbitt and Eva Mae Kite Corbitt. He was retired as a sheet metal technician. He was a member of the Central Activity Center, a member of the “Love Bunch” Seniors Bowling League, Sheet Metal Union Local 85, and a Life member of the American Legion. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War, and he was a member of Oswichee Baptist Church in Ft. Mitchell. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Ruth Ann “Hank” Shatto Corbitt, three sons, James “Jimmy” Corbitt and wife Donna, Steven Corbitt and wife Lisa, and David Corbitt and wife Terri, (7) grandchildren, Stacy and Alan Corbitt, Brandy Herron (Scott), Jessica Bradley (Andrew), Brittany McDougall (Shane), Joey Lang (Felicia), and Amanda Marshall (Chris), (9) great grandchildren, Dalton, Sadie, and Easton Herron, Aleah, Ayden, and Alexa Bradley, Hunter McDougall, and Alex and Keith Lang, numerous other loving family members and many caring friends. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Oswichee Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Clarence Corbitt.
