Clara’s Obituary Cumberland, Clara M. Oliveira, 58, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 6, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Prados Celorico da Beira, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Manuel A. and Maria (Farias) Clemente. Clara came to the United States in 1977 settling in Cumberland, RI. She was employed by Sensata Technologies, formerly known as Texas Instruments in Attleboro, MA. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband Carlos A. Oliveira to whom she has been married to for the past 36 years and her children Jason C. Rega-Oliveira and her son-in-law, Zachary Rega-Oliveira of North Smithfield and Carina C. Oliveira of Cumberland who were her whole world. She grew up in a large loving family and is survived by three sisters; Beatriz Tomaz, Preciosa Alves, and Maria Carvalho all of Cumberland. One brother; Antonio Clemente of Attleboro and several nieces and nephews. Clara lived an active and happy life for as long as she could, always putting others first and offering her hand to those in need. She had a vibrant personality, always making those around her laugh and smile. Her love and devotion, felt by many, was evident through the countless hours of volunteer work and support to her family, friends and the Portuguese community. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Cumberland, RI where she found strength through prayer and maintained her faith in the Lord. Clara was a resilient, brave and strong-willed woman who never gave up her fight against cancer and will to live, even in her final days she still always chose to put her family first. Family and friends are kindly invited to Clara’s Life Celebration beginning on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at J.J. Duffy Funeral Home with visiting hours from 4 PM to 7 PM. Funeral service to follow Friday, January 11, 2019 at 9AM at the J.J Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon road, Rt. 122, Cumberland RI with a mass of Christian Burial held at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Fatima Drive Cumberland, RI. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI.
