Christine Virginia Chestnut, age 88 of Dayton went home to be with her Jesus Monday afternoon, January 28, 2019 at her home. Christine was born in Oak Ridge on June 28, 1930 the daughter of the late Bass and Mildred Louise (Patton) Goins. She was also preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Vince Chestnut and her brothers, Rev. Kenneth Goins and John Goins. Christine lived in Pensacola, FL for many years until moving to Dayton fifteen years ago. While living in Pensacola she was employed as a restaurant manager and server. She loved traveling the country with her husband and enjoyed fishing and painting. She was a member of the Sale Creek Church of God. She is survived her four sisters, Shirley (Kenneth) Jewell of Spring City, Barbara Sullivan of Graysville, Brenda (Chester) Smith of Graysville, Connie (Richard) Day of Dayton, and her five brothers, Bud (Nancy) Goins of Sale Creek, Ted (Linda) Goins of Lafayette, GA, Malcolm (Linda) Goins of Dayton, Jay (Brenda) Goins of Dayton and DeWayne (Alice) Goins of Bakewell. Funeral services for Christine will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:00pm at the Sale Creek Church of God with her pastor, Rev. Terry Bolton officiating.
