Chona “Dotcha” G. Garza, age 78 of Placedo passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019. She was born July 28, 1940 in Beeville to the late Chon Garza and Inez Arredondo Garza. She is survived by her husband, Lorenzo T. Garza of Placedo; daughter, Jo Ann Cavazos (Jacob) of San Antonio; sons, Joe Garza (Paula) of Francitas, Lorenzo Garza of Houston, David Garza (Martha) of Victoria and Jesse Garza of Placedo; sisters, Rosa Perez of Victoria, Estella Gonzales (Leon) of Placedo, Paula Arrisola (Juan) of Beeville, Maria Elizondo of Victoria and Anita Holder (C.E.) of Tivoli. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Juan Garza. Visitation will begin Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 5 – 9pm with a rosary to be recited at 7pm at Angel Lucy’s Funeral Home in Victoria. Visitation will resume Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 9 – 11am at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at 12:15pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with a memorial mass to be celebrated at 1pm. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dave Garza Jr., Mark Garza, Jason Garza, Johnny “J.J.” Garza, Oscar Perez and Ray Elizondo. Under the direction of Angel Lucy’s Funeral Home in Victoria, 361-575-3212.
