Obituary for Chester “Darius” Gower Greenville – Chester “Darius” Gower, 72, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 after a lengthy illness. A visitation will be held at the home of Steve Nobles this Sunday from 2-4 pm at 2305 Dovedale Drive, Greenville, NC 27834. Darius served his country in the United States Army Reserves and was an avid fan of Nascar, especially Richard Petty. In his free time he loved to travel and take cruises. He also enjoyed working on cars with grandson Justin and watching his favorite cooking show hosted by Justin Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carolyn Garrason and husband Johnny Garrason. Darius is survived by his wife, Dora Glynn Gower; children, Kimberly Kay Sawyer and husband Michael, Cortney Lynn Gower and her husband Robert Dozier, II; grandchildren, Justin and Kirsten McMahon, Summer “Punky” Lynn Gower; a brother, Fred Wayne Gower and late wife Joy Gower; a sister, Bonnie Gower Grady and 7 nieces and 1 nephew; and his beloved dog Nala.
