Carmela Petracco 1922 2019

Obituary of Carmela Petracco Carmela M. Petracco (nee Cofrancesco), 96, of Elmwood Park, passed away peacefully in her home on January 29, 2019. Carmela was born in Paterson on August 8, 1922 to the late Angelo and Michelina Cofrancesco. She was a seamstress for many years as a member of the ILGWU in Paterson, NJ. Carmela was a former parishioner at St. Anthony’s Church in Paterson where she was also a member of the Children of Mary Society. In her later years, she enjoyed line dancing with her sister and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Rocco Petracco (1994), the cherished mother of Mary O’Hara and Anna Holland and her husband Charles, the best grandmother ever to Charles Matthew Holland and his wife Lindsay and Carrie Ann Barr and her husband Erik and great grandmother of Levi William Barr and Thomas Rocco Holland. She is also survived by her dear sister Carrie Bracigliano and her brother Joseph Cofrancesco and his wife Lucy. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Faranetta and Anne Bonifide and her brothers Clement and Vincent Cofrancesco. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 3rd from 1:00-5:00pm at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Ave., Woodland Park. A funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 10:00am at St. Anthony’s RC Church, 138 Beech St., Paterson, NJ 07501. Guests may meet at the funeral home at 9:00am. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to: St. Anthony’s RC Church, 138 Beech Street, Paterson, NJ 07501
