Obituary of Calvin Rydbom Calvin Bernard Rydbom, 84, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 after a lengthy illness. Calvin was born in Clinton, Pennsylvania to Richard and Loretta on September 14, 1934. He grew up in Brady Lake, graduating from Kent Roosevelt High School while serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a maintenance mechanic at Alside, Inc. for most of his career and retired from Land O’ Lakes in Kent, Ohio. Calvin lived life for his family above all else, and found time to enjoy playing with his two pups, Harley and Katie, woodworking and gardening with Gladys, his wife of 61 years. Calvin is loved beyond measure and is survived by Gladys; his children, Calvin C. and Yvonne Adkins; granddaughter, Brittany Adkins; son-in-law, John Adkins; brothers, Charles “Skip” Rydbom and David Koesel; sisters, Georgia Waltman, Rea Bowen, Roma Henderson, Audrey Schauer, Ellen Rankin; and dozens of nieces, nephews and additional family. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Mitchell Adkins; his parents; brothers, Robert, Larry and Richard Rydbom; and sisters, Adora Stout and Loretta Smith. Family and friends are invited to Redmon Funeral Home, 3633 Darrow Road, Stow, OH 44224 on Saturday, February 2 where visitation will begin at 10 AM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11 AM with Pastor Jim Case officiating. Private burial Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Kentucky and Southern Indiana Stroke Association, 3425 Stony Spring Circle, #102, Louisville, KY 40220, 502-499-5757, to help further awareness and education of stroke related illnesses.
