Calvin’s Obituary Calvin K. Bonnema, age 85, of South Holland, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019. Beloved husband of Marcia Bonnema, nee Bakker. Loving father of Mark (Alisa) Bonnema, Jim (Brenda) Bonnema, Jack (Trudey) Bonnema, Alicia (Kevin) Sluis, Roger (Diane) Bonnema, and Clare Bonnema. Proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren and preceded in death by one infant grandchild. Dearest brother of the late Phyllis (Abe) Willems, the late Roy Bonnema, and Henrietta (late George) Reynolds. Kind uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Henry and Amy Bonnema. Visitation Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St. South Holland, IL. Funeral service Monday, January 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church (16248 South Park Ave. South Holland, IL) with Rev. Dan Svendsen officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery – Evergreen Park, IL. Cal was a longtime co-owner of Bennett Auto Servicenter in Dolton, IL.
