Beloved husband of Jennifer Devitt (nee Hessenthaler). Devoted father of Nicholas and Emily Hammerschmidt as well as Isaiah Johnson. Dear brother of Donna Buddemeier, Karen Keller, and Brian Hammerschmidt. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Bruce was proudly raised in Conshohocken, PA and graduated from Covenant College. He was a teacher with the Philadelphia School District. Bruce will always be remembered for his quick sense of humor and a kindhearted smile that could light up the room as well as all things Disney. He was known as a fantastic dancer, loved Thursday football and could often be seen pushing his cart through the Columbus Mart. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday evening from 6PM to 7:30PM at the POPIOLEK FUNERAL HOME, 400 Clements Bridge Rd, Barrington, NJ. A Life Tribute will follow at 7:30PM.
