Mrs. Betty Haywood Slover Owen, 82, passed away on the evening of January 2, 2019. Mrs. Owen worked for the Board of Education and was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Owen is survived by her son, Robert “Woody” Reece (Pam) of Somerville, TN; her brother, Jack Haywood of Covington; two grandchildren, Angela Sells (Jason) and Robert Reece (Talia); and by her six great-grandchildren, Dylan, Jacob, Brayden, Reece, Lane, and Aubrey. Mrs. Owen was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry F. Slover and Billy Owen; and by her two brothers, Seymour Haywood and Robert Haywood. Services for Mrs. Owen will be held on Sunday, January 6, at 3PM at the Maley-Yarbrough Chapel. Visitation will take place from 1-3 prior to the services. Interment will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens with Ray Dixon officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be sent to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
