Betty’s Obituary Betty Rachel Wells Modlin, 84, passed away January 28, 2019. She was born in Isle of Wight County, VA the daughter of the late John Walter Wells and Edna Rachel Harris Wells. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Randolph Modlin; and twelve siblings. Betty is survived by her children and their spouses, Timothy Starling (Patricia), Arthur Starling, Todd Starling (Cindy), and Betty Jo Modlin Duke (Wayne); grandchildren, Chrisi Duman (Aaron), Jessica Starling, Alex Starling, Ashley Skinner (Justin), Miles Starling (Lori), Lauren Starling, Wyatt Duke; great grandchildren, Abigail Duman, Bradley Duman, and Beau Starling; and brother, Milton Wells (Shirley). A funeral service will be held Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Burt Pearce officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family for a visitation Thursday night from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
