Obituary for Betty Louise Stockdill Betty Louise Stockdill, age 94, formerly of Jenks St., Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2019, at Brookside Senior Living in Brookville, PA. She was born on June 18, 1924 to the late Jacob Ezra and Margaret (Baughman) Hilliard in Brookville, PA. She married George E. Stockdill of Pittsburgh, PA, on November 26, 1952. George preceded her in death in October of 1999. She graduated from Brookville High School and then attended Clarion College and received her Bachelor’s degree in education. Betty was a school teacher for over forty years. She was said to be “the mother of thousands of minds”. She traveled extensively, bringing back many things to enrich her student’s lives. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, as well as growing roses and other flowers. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brookville, PA. She especially enjoyed her ladies’ Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Martha Conrad Study Club, the Clarion County Daughters of the American Revolution, Pi Gamma Mu, and Alpha Psi Omega. Betty was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, from 5 – 7pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at the First Baptist Church, 101 E Main St., Brookville, PA 15825, beginning at 11:00am and officiated by Pastor David Blair. Interment will take place at Ohl Cemetery, Beaver Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
