Betty’s Obituary Cincinnati, OH — Betty Jane Dyke, 96, of Lehman Road in Cincinnati, formerly of Negley, passed away Friday evening, January 18, 2019, in Cincinnati. Betty was born January 1, 1923 in New Middletown, OH, a daughter of the late Walter and Diana Catherine (Wittenberger) Persing, and had resided in the Negley area for most of her life, until moving to Cincinnati in 1996. Her husband, Raymond J. Dyke whom she married on August 30, 1943, preceded her in death on November 28, 2003 as well as two sisters and a brother. Betty is survived by two sons, David J. (Sandra) Dyke of Guelph, Ontario, Canada and Daniel (Karen) J. Dyke of Cincinnati; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She had been a member of the First Church of Christ in East Palestine. Betty was proud of her American Indian heritage and active in Boys Scouts and other activities her children were involved in. She enjoyed sewing, antiques and family genology. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home with her family to officiate. A private burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
