Bernell E. Lowien, 88, of Lakeside-Marblehead, OH, passed away, Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at the Toledo Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Bernell was born on March 27, 1930 in Lakeside-Marblehead, the son of Emil and Luella (Borman) Lowien. On February 24, 1951, he married Jean Fish and she preceded him in death on November 14, 2009. Bernell worked as an electrician for Ohler & Holzhauer for 28 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he was… a custodian. Bernell previously served as a 4-H advisor. He enjoyed genealogy research, stamp collecting, woodworking, and gardening. Bernell will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory are: Children: Coni Ann (Jeffrey A.) Limpert, Helen (Robert) Denney, Joel (Dawn) Lowien, Judy (John) Empcke and JoAnn (Jeff) Wilber; Grandchildren; Jeffery Allen (Chrissy), Daniel D. Sarah) Limeer, Mike Empcke, Lisa (Joel) McCoy, Nathan (Sheila Whiteley) Lowien, Benjamin Lowien, Adrien (Adam) Lowien-Kirian, Jeff Wilber Jr. and Jennifer (Hans) Wilber-Strock; Great-Grandchildren: Max Limpert, Gavin Limpert, Eagan Limpert, Sammy Limeer, Lily Limeer, Audrey Lowien, Alex Lowien, John Oehler, Aaron Oehler, Jacob Oehler, Charlie Kirian and Freddy Kirian and Nephews: Ronald (Mary) Mortus, Gary (Carrie) Mortus and Greg (Sandy) Mortus. Bernell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his sister: Deloris Zelms. Visitation will be 2-8pm, Friday, January 25, 2019 with family present from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH,. The Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Marblehead, OH. Interment will be in Sackett Cemetery, Marblehead, OH.
