Anthony Tumminia December 3 1948 – January 29 2019

Obituary for Anthony Tumminia Anthony Tumminia, 70, of Spring Lake Heights, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at his home. Anthony was born in Plainfield, NJ and had lived in Spring Lake Heights for 25 years. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal as well as the Distinguished Service Medal. He also served as an Advisor to Sea Explorers Ship 188. He was employed as a Civil Engineering Project Manager with Insite Engineering LLC, of Wall. He had a love for fishing, nature, the outdoors and the beach. Anthony was always an extremely optimistic person, whose positivity in life never wavered. He was a true inspiration to all those who knew him. Anthony was predeceased by his parents, Antonino and Jeanne (Marien) Tumminia. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia (Stoll) Tumminia, and by his daughter, Leanne Tumminia, of Lanoka Harbor. Also surviving are Anthony’s sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Steven Haas, of Blackstone, Mass., his nieces, Christina and Lisa Cournoyer, his nephew, James Haas, and his great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Saturday, February 2, 2019, from 2-5 PM. A funeral service, as well as Air Force honors, will follow at 5 PM.
