SHELBYVILLE – Anna Belle (Moore) Griffing, age 98, passed away Sunday, January 20th on her birthday at Ashford Place in Shelbyville. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Beulah (Yockey) Moore of Bremen, Indiana, her husband of 65 years, Dr. William J. Griffing, son Jack Griffing of North Charleston, SC, and sisters Irene Huff, Kate Garrett, and Agnes Martin all of Bremen. She is survived by daughters Beverly (Bob) Gardner of Shelbyville and Jean Madden of Newburgh, son William J. (Rosemary) Griffing Jr. of Batavia, IL, daughter-in-law Patsy Griffing of North Charleston, SC, sister Elfreda Cline of Nappanee, IN, granddaughters Dr. Kelly Aukema of Mendota Heights, MN, Kimberly Pool of Ashland, OH and Sarah Vela of North Aurora, IL and 5 great grandchildren. Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She and her husband Bill lived many years in Greenfield prior to relocation to Shelbyville 10 years ago. She had been a member of Bradley United Methodist Church, the Greenfield Kiwanis Club and an avid bridge player. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the First Christian Church in Shelbyville where Ann was a member. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shelbyville First Christian Church Building Project or to Hospice of South Central Indiana. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield.
