Obituary for Alma G. Miller Alma G. Miller, 96 of Zanesville, died 4:10 PM, Thursday, January 10, 2019, at The Glen of Cincinnati. She was born Friday, May 12, 1922, in Zanesville, the daughter of Nicholas Malone and Genevieve (Burkhard) Malone. She married Donald P. Miller on Saturday, April 29, 1944, who preceded her in death on Tuesday, September 6, 1983 and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Alma was a member of the Greater Zanesville Singers and St. Nicholas Church Choir. She worked at St. Nicholas School Cafeteria with Mary McCarty, Judy Estate and M. Wiles. Alma was also a sales clerk for Jo-Ann Fabrics and retired from the Hallmark Store in the Country Fair Shopping Center; she enjoyed sewing, cooking, playing cards and singing. Alma is survived by seven children: Barbara (William) Sargent, John (Patty) Miller, Chris (Kathy) Miller, Teresa (Dawson) Davis, Peter (JoEllen) Miller, Dennis (Mary) Miller and Caroline (Thomas) Boor; grandchildren: Brian (Amy) Sargent, Jennifer Flood, Ryan Stettler, Joel Stettler, Jennifer Miller, Christopher (Sandra) Miller, Kyle (Jenna) Miller, Emily Lawrence, Andrew Miller, Nicholas (Danielle) Davis, Chad Miller, Alyssa Miller, Bryce Miller, Nicole (Joseph) Bowlin, Daniel (Tara) Miller, Donald (Taylor) Miller, Michelle Toth, Pieter (Hannah) Boor, Charles Boor and Zachery Boor; one grandson-in-law: Matt Stewart; Great Grandchildren: Olivia Sargent, Abbie Sargent, Gerard Flood, Liz Rihlie, Dustin Miller, Sapphire Miller, Lexi Miller, Rachael Lawrence, Aria Lawrence, Genevieve Davis, Emilia Davis, Logan Boor and Josie Miller In addition to her parents and husband, Alma was preceded in death by one daughter: Mary Jean Miller; one granddaughter: Meghan Davis-Stewart; five brothers and sisters: James Malone, Patrick Malone, Clara Synan, Rita Wagner and Mary McCarty. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where a Christian Vigil will be held at 7:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 955 East Main Street, Zanesville, with Fr. Martin J. Ralko as celebrant.
