Alfred Wayne Johnson, age 75 of Mint Hill, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, Novant Health Matthews Medical Center in Matthews, NC. Born on September 6, 1943, in Robeson County, he was a son to the late Ewen Albert Johnson and Ms. Alfreda Ivey Shaw. Mr. Johnson leaves behind his beloved wife, Judith Weisner Johnson of the home; children, Christopher Wayne Johnson and wife, Crystal of Gastonia, Jill Suzanne J. Smith and husband, Terry of Elizabethtown; siblings, William Johnson and wife, Maureen of Evergreen, Linda J. Mohr and husband, Larry of Charleston, SC, Ronnie Johnson of Wilmington, Ed “Peewee” Johnson of Lake Waccamaw, Larry Johnson and wife, Jinny of College Station, TX, and Cynthia Johnson of Hillsboro, VA. He also leaves behind four precious grandchildren, Cameron Johnson, Caroline Johnson, Teagan Smith and Avery Smith. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Matthews, with Pastor Buddy Pigg officiating. Visitation will follow the funeral service in the church Sanctuary. The family will also receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2019 in the Evergreen Baptist Church, with an interment service following in the Shaw Cemetery. A service Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
