Virginia Goodman Wright, 78, of Concord Rd., Vale, passed away Tuesday December 25, 2018 at home. Born May 28, 1940 in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Carl Daniel Goodman and Vangie Martin Goodman. She was retired from Lincoln County Schools as a teacher and principal and was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She was very active with the retired teachers association and delivered meals on wheels for many years. Survivors include Hubert Dale Wright of Vale; four sons, Gary Wright, Michael Wright, Scott Wright and John Wright all of Vale; two granddaughters, Kayla and Kasey Wright of Vale and sister, Evelene Hodge of Vale. The visitation will be 12:00PM until 1:00PM Friday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. The funeral service will be 1:00PM Friday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Mahaffey officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Building Fund, 1156 North Brook III School Rd., Vale, NC 28168. A guest register is available at www.stameytysingerfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
