Viola Schouster Gartrell August 27 1942 December 4 2018 (age 76)

Viola Gartrell, 76, of Cowen went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Summersville Regional Medical Center. Born August 27, 1942 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Carroll and Dorothy Beulah (Phelps) Schouster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Partin; brother, Andy Schouster; and sister, Patty Allen. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Henry Bradley Mitchell, Jr; children, Joseph William (wife, Kimberly) Ritenour, Michael (wife, Angela) Ritenour, Charlotte Ritenour (companion, Frank Morris), Karen Partin, Heidi Partin; two grandchildren, whom she raised, Joseph Michael Ritenour and Beth Ann (husband, Chris) Partin; brothers and sisters, Thomas Schouster, Lawrence Schouster, John Schouster, Evelyn Schouster, Kathleen Schouster; several grand and great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives to mourn her passing. Services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 5:00pm at Adams-Reed Funeral Home, Cowen with Brother Daniel Hamrick officiating. Friends may join the family for a visitation two hours prior to the service.
