Todd Scott Brannan 2018

Heaven needed another angel on Christmas Eve, so God called Todd home. Todd Scott Brannan, 53, of Waverly died from complications of diabetes at 9:25 p.m. on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Adena Pike Medical Center in Waverly, Ohio. He was born January 22, 1965 in Chillicothe, Ohio, son of Robert and Barbara Brannan of Piketon, Ohio, who survives. Also left to mourn Todd are his wife, Sandy Brannan and his special friend, Trish Mustard. Todd was a father who never sired any children, but he was “DAD” to Josh Lambert, Ashton Brannan, David Martin, Steve Martin, Derrick Haymons, Michael Sparkman, Hank Sparkman, Tara (Tyler) Webb, Michael Mustard, and Cody (Tori) Musatrd. He was also “Papaw” to seven grandchildren. He loved them all very much. They were never step-children to him, just children who relied on his love and guidance. He was the beloved brother of Cindy (Erich) Schiketantz of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada and Bob (Jody) Chapman of Circleville, Ohio, and the uncle of Ericha Schiketantz and Jake Chapman. Todd also leaves to cherish fond memories five aunts, Ruby (Lloyd) Shanks of Waverly, OH, Frances Ward of Chillicothe, OH, Susan Isaac of Piketon, Hazel Brannan of Waverly, and Vernie Sheets. He was also survived by his uncle, Manford Montgomery. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Whitt Chapman, grandparents, Kernie and Flora Montgomery, and Warren and Hazel Brannan, five aunts, Wilma Brannan, Mary Pittman, Betty Isaac, Vinie Dinniston, and Wanda Cook, five uncles, Tommy Brannan, John Brannan, Earl Brannan, Sanford Montgomery, and Edward Montgomery, and stepson, Mark Wayne Smith II. His cousin, Cheryl (Ryan Rapp) Newton, who was very close to him, is one of his 13 first cousins left to mourn him as well as two more generations of cousins. Todd was a super-hero warrior, battling for his life multiple times. He had a multitude of friends and admirers, who were praying for him and cheering him on in his battle. Todd was disabled from a job that he loved. He was an EMT, who drove thousands of miles, helping thousands of people get the treatment they needed and saving the lives of many of them. He was also a volunteer for Elm Grove Squad 5 for many years before his disability. He was a devoted servant, who always looked so handsome in his EMT uniform. Todd enjoyed all sports, but he loved football; as a player, fan, and dad. He never missed Derrick, Michael, or Hank’s Piketon Redstreaks games. He also loved the Buckeyes and the Bengals and refused to give up on his favorite teams, win or lose. Todd was a very generous and kind man and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His family would like to thank everyone who prayed for Todd during his illness. Family will receive friends and loved ones at BOYER FUNERAL HOME, 125 W. 2nd Street Waverly, OH from 4-7 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 with funeral services beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dale Reed officiating.
