Obituary for Timothy Frederick Ruddy Timothy Frederick Ruddy, 80, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. He was born July 9, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late William Henry and Lucille (Misfeldt) Ruddy. Tim received an undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and graduated from the Washington University Law School in St. Louis. He began his law career in 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana, later moving to Cape Girardeau where he practiced at Spradling and Spradling. He then went into private practice, retiring in 2005. He and Linda Musso were married July 2, 1966 in Edwardsville, Illinois. Tim enjoyed bicycling, playing tennis, was an avid reader and gardener. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Linda Ruddy of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; two daughters, Elizabeth R. Toftemark of O’Fallon, Illinois, Margaret Ruddy (Todd Collins) of Golden, Colorado; one son, Fred (Jessica) Ruddy of Shelbyville, Kentucky; and seven grandchildren, Katherine Toftemark, Eric Toftemark, Payton Ruddy, Stephen Ruddy, Lillie Ruddy, Allison Collins and Emily Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Lars E. Toftemark. Tim’s wishes were to have his body donated to the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to the Cape Girardeau Public Library, 711 N. Clark Street, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
