Obituary for Thomas A. Miller Thomas A. Miller, 91, of Shelbyville, IN passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN. He was born October 23, 1927 in Indianapolis, IN. He married Joanne M. (Matthews) Miller on June 19, 1948 in Indianapolis, IN, she survives. He had been a sales associate and installer for Lebanon Oak Flooring in Indianapolis, IN for 25 years, he previously had worked for Highgrade Meat Packing Company in Indianapolis, IN for 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps in WW II serving in the occupation of Japan. He was a member of Risen Lord Lutheran Church in Bargersville, IN. He enjoyed and loved raising horses, horseback riding, camping, gardening, spending time in Brown County, and being with his family. Surviving is his wife of 70 years Joanne M. (Matthews) Miller of Shelbyville, IN; children Terry Allen Miller (Karen) of Wesley Chapel, FL, Stanley P. Miller (Theresa) of Jamestown, IN, Barbra S. Meek (Victor) of Shelbyville, IN, and Steven E. Miller (Lois) of Boggstown, IN; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Althea (Knight) Miller; brothers Robert Miller, William Miller, and Barry Neil Miller; sisters Lu Verna Moy Miller Ford, Naomi Miller Ferch, Barbara Miller, Jean Gloria Miller Breeden, and Joy Miller Mann-Burger. Pastor Lecia Beck will conduct a service on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN, where friends may call from 10AM Saturday till service time at the mortuary. Burial will follow with military honors at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Zionsville, IN. The family request memorial contributions be made to Meadowstone Therapeutic Riding Center, 5309 South 200 East, Franklin, IN, 46131.
