Obituary of Sylvia Titus Sylvia S. Titus, age 96, of Lindley, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Absolut Care of Three Rivers. She was born on January 2, 1922, the daughter of Earl F. and Prudence (Carpenter) Smith. She married Ammon Titus on May 12, 1951 in Addison. He predeceased her in 2004. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother and she cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a long time member of Addison United Methodist Church and the Addison Grange. Sylvia retired from Hugh Gregg School in 1993 following 39 years of service. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and Dawn Titus of Lindley and Neil and Sue Titus of Addison, grandchildren, Melissa Titus of Lindley, Eric (Kim Brown) Titus of Lindley, Cole (Andrea Dick) Titus of Addison, Cassie (Bill) Pionessa of Addison, Kari (John) Criss of Addison, great grandchildren, Kiara White, Braeden Randall, Caden Titus, Alayna Pionessa, Brielle Pionessa, Kohen Criss, and Owen Titus, and nieces and nephews. Sylvia was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Tucker, brother, Robert L. Smith, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Daniel and Ellen Bronson. Family and friends are invited to call at the Lindley Community Church, 9607 Morgan Creek Road, Lindley, on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. A celebration of Sylvia’s life will follow there at 1:00pm. Burial will take place at Presho Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to the Lindley-Presho Fire Department, 9541 Tannery Creek Road, Lindley, NY 14858.
