Richard J. Smith, age 65 of Punxsutawney, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. Ricahard was born September 30, 1953 in Punxsutawney, to the late Robert and Norma Jean (McMillen) Smith-Marshall. He was employed by the Punxsutawney School District in Therapeutic Staff Support for many years. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and anything involving being in the outdoors. He is survived by his son; Jerod “JJ Smith of Punxsutawney, one brother; Mark Smith and wife Lorry of Punxsutawney and several close cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2:30 -8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor Donald Pendley officiating. Interment in Markton Cemetery is private.
